Stagville Plantation is situated in Durham County, NC. With buildings put together from late 18th to mid 19 century, this is one of the biggest plantation systems in the south. It was owned by the Bennehan Cameron family and covers 120 square kilometer including Little River plantation and was home to 900 Africans in the 1860s. This plantation complex comprises 3 tracts of over 70 acres each. Bennehan House created in 1787 and 1799 was situated at the National Register of Historic Places . The historic buildings here include salve residences as well as historic house museums.
